Technology and healthcare are becoming increasingly interconnected, with cloud adoption, data sharing and analytics poised to help reshape the future of the healthcare industry.
We recently participated in a webcast with PwC and Microsoft that uses the OSIC Data Repository as an example to discuss how digital and cloud technologies are forging a new path to manage rare diseases. This 30-minute conversation also talked about how cloud, AI and machine learning can help accelerate the speed and accuracy of rare disease diagnostics, and improve disease management for patients, physicians and researchers. “Although a finding from AI’s models of today aren’t necessarily definitive, they can certainly point the doctor in the right direction, giving them the knowledge they need to take the next steps in a treatment plan,” said webcast participant Patricia Obermaier, vice president of US health and life sciences at Microsoft. |
