As we have often said, when you bring together great minds and good people, you create compound effects on progress. More than 122 respiratory, radiology, pulmonology, machine learning, hardware and software experts contributed their invaluable knowledge to help us create the OSIC Data Repository.
A team of experts from PwC is part of that group, and their dedication and technical expertise helped us build the infrastructure that supports our first-of-its kind database of anonymized HRCT scans and clinical data regarding ILDs. “We needed a groundbreaking database but didn’t have all the pieces in place. PwC was essential in helping to put it all together — securely and intentionally,” said OSIC Executive Director Elizabeth Estes in a case study that discusses the project. Powered by Microsoft Azure, the OSIC Data Repository enables worldwide access to critical medical imaging data — ultimately improving patient care. “OSIC and Microsoft have shown how powerful technology can be for healthcare, opening doors in care, research and delivery,” said Will Perry, US cloud innovation and engineering leader at PwC. Added Patricia Obermaier, vice president of US health and life sciences at Microsoft: “OSIC’s contribution to the healthcare industry is the true definition of innovation. This collaboration demonstrates our mission of empowering others to achieve more.” |
